Zeke Berman's Photography

Zeke Berman, born in 1951, is known to be an American photographer. It has been said that he has been making singular, studio based photographs since the late 70s. His work consists of the use of different materials that include string, clay and ice... as well as other basic everyday items. His images tend to reflect a comparison between sculpture, photography and drawings. His images also include an interest in the evolution of photography, which includes visual cognition and mysterious optics. Berman's work has been featured in multiple exhibitions at key galleries and museums. "If an artist can be said to possess esthetic values, his would best be described at epistemological."

In the image above, we can see that it is clearly a house inside of the heart. From my point of view, it can be interpreted as home is where the heart is, which is a motto millions of people tend to live by. By taking a guess, I believe this just happens to be a wooden table and the heart has been created out of a liquid substance, water per say. The house could have been made personally by him or could be an antique figure. This image is so simple yet holds so much passion. His use of lighting and out of the ordinary objects and features seem to present a mysterious message, and this goes for majority of his photography.
